TRT For Erectile Dysfunction
Sexual Function Problems
Most men who contact TRTMD are experiencing sexual function problems such as erectile dysfunction (ED) to some degree.
What we mean is that if your erections are not as firm or as long lasting as they were in your younger years, then you are seeing the beginning stages of ED.
- Most men report that their erectile function is okay until asked if it is the same as it was in their early 20’s. The answer to this question is usually “NO.” That is because testosterone levels begin to decline around 30-years of age.
- Research shows that testosterone therapy significantly improves sexual function in men with Low T. In fact, ED and a lack of interest in your love life are considered to be “hallmark” symptoms for low testosterone.
- Most men rate their erections as a three prior to starting TRT, which means that these men are able to achieve an erection but are not able to maintain a strong erection throughout a sexual encounter.
Morning erections are a great measure of testosterone health. Men who do not wake up with a morning erection are probably suffering from Low T, and TRT for ED may help.
Interestingly, morning erections are usually the first positive report we get from our patients after starting TRT for erectile dysfunction. Many men who formerly suffered from sexual function problems due to low t report an increase in morning erections 24 hours after their first testosterone dose.
