Peptide Therapy

Peptides are flexible treatments, addressing a number of issues. We use peptides to improve many conditions throughout the body—as well as improve your physical appearance.

Over the last decade, there has been a revived interest in peptide therapeutics and how they can play a role in addressing unmet medical needs. According to the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, peptides can be an excellent complement or even preferable alternative to small molecule and biological therapeutics.

Peptides can be useful in:

  • Supporting the immune system
  • Repairing soft tissues
  • Decreasing inflammation
  • Treating chronic illnesses
  • Improving the cardiovascular system
  • Addressing GI issues
  • Increasing muscle growth
  • Improving cognition
  • Helping give doctors and patients control over cellular aging
  • And much more

What peptides do we use at TRTMD and when?

The peptide journey we recommend is intended to be the fastest response to inflammation and cholesterol issues. Once the course is finished, patients need to maintain the results with healthier lifestyles and good habits, which your practitioner will guide you on.

Step 1: Anti-inflammatory peptides

At TRTMD, we recommend peptides be taken in a particular order to first address inflammation and improve the cardiovascular system, before weight loss. If weight loss treatments are started while inflammation is high, the lymphatic system can overreact. In addition, many hormones are regulated by the gut, so we need to address the root issues before moving on to weight loss.

For weight loss patients, we start by looking at the results of your Cardio IQ, which tells us how much cholesterol you have, its quality, and how it’s affecting your vascular system. Nearly all the patients we see have unsatisfactory numbers.

Glutathione

Glutathione can help to:

  • Change particle size to reduce the damage to your cells and arteries
  • Lowers cholesterol numbers, and in doing so reduce inflammation

Thymosin Alpha (TA1)

TA1 can help to:

  • Lower inflammatory markers
  • Re-regulate the immune system
  • Increase T cell production
  • Change inflammatory cytokine signaling by suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokines

Thymosin Beta 4 (TB4)

TB4 can help to:

  • Repair tissue damage inside veins and arteries
  • Repair organs stressed by all of this
  • Renew endothelial lining; part of treatment for fatty liver

BPC 157 (Body Protection Compound)

BPC 157 can help to:

  • Augment all the other issues with cytokine signaling
  • Offer relief from leaky gut, acid reflux, ulcers
  • Promote better digestion, bloating
  • Help heal tissues

Step 2: Growth Hormones

After knocking out inflammation, growth hormones may come into play. For many people, growth hormones feel like a fountain of youth.

Scientifically speaking, there are two types:

  • GHRH: Growth hormone releasing hormone increases the frequency of growth hormone pulsivity. Essentially, these hormones are released in pulses, often at night.

  • GHRP: Growth hormone releasing peptides increase the amplitude of each pulse.

Think of the two like this: GHRH is like telling your server to keep the drinks coming. GHRP is like saying, “make it a double.”

When used effectively, GHRH and GHRP can improve cell efficiency.

With more frequent, more powerful growth hormones, patients may see:

  • Better hair, skin, nails
  • Higher bone density
  • Faster rebuilding after injury
